Deferment or Suspension Application

Apply to defer or suspend your course due to compassionate or compelling circumstances.

Important Information

  • You may defer/suspend your studies for up to 12 months.
  • You must provide evidence of compassionate or compelling circumstances (e.g., medical certificate, death certificate, police report).
  • The deferment/suspension fee is $200 AUD. No refund will be given after approval.
  • Deferring, suspending or cancelling an enrolment may affect your student visa. Visit homeaffairs.gov.au or call DHA on 131 881.

Standard payment accepted: debit/credit cards (Visa, MasterCard), bank cheque, bank transfer or cash (AUD). 2% surcharge on credit card transactions.

Visa Information

This application must include supporting documentary evidence to be assessed and approved, including (where appropriate):

Death Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Police Report, Medical Certificate, Travel Itinerary, Letter of Offer or a Statutory Declaration where evidence is unavailable.

The process of deferring, suspending or cancelling an enrolment may affect your student visa. If you have any enquiries, visit the DHA website or call the DHA helpline on 131 881.

If you return prior to the stated deferment/suspension date, you must notify Australian Pacific International College as soon as possible.
